Heal, Evolve, Reclaim: The Story Behind HERfight
Every brand has a story and our brand started with two things; a desire to help others and a frustration that the gear we loved was never made for us.
So, that is how HERfight started, by us, Sally, and Joey, two women who appreciate the healing benefits of exercise but were tired of women’s boxing gear being an afterthought. Often it was just men’s gloves shrunk down and sold in pink, gloves that swallowed your hands, wraps that never sat right, and a whole sport that quietly assumed the person putting on the gloves was a man. So, we built the brand we wish we had, boxing gear designed specifically for women, with a unique female fit, extra cushioning, great wrist support, breathable mesh and colours and styles that packed as much punch as your fight.
But HERfight was never only about better gloves. From the beginning, it was about what boxing gives a woman and being able to give some of that back.
More Than Gear
There is a moment the first time you hit the bag properly. Something shifts. You stand a little taller. You take up your space.
That feeling is the heart of everything we make, and it is why our mission is three words: Heal · Evolve · Reclaim. For so many of the women in our community, boxing is about reclaiming strength, confidence, and a sense of control, the belief that they are capable, and that they belong in the room.
Soft and strong were never opposites. HERfight exists to prove it.
Why We Fight for Friends with Dignity
Given such a big part of our mission is about inspiring women to reclaim their strength, we wanted to stand behind the women who need that most.
That is why the sale of HERfight gloves gives back to Friends with Dignity — an Australian volunteer-based charity that provides practical, dignified support to survivors of domestic and family violence.
We chose them because of how they help. Friends with Dignity do not just raise awareness, they show up in the practical, unglamorous ways that change a life. Through their Sanctuary Program, they set up fully furnished homes so someone leaving violence has a safe, warm place to start again. Their Urgent Requests Program covers the essentials that fall through the cracks: rent, a security bond, the things for which you cannot wait. And their Little Friends scholarships help the children affected by violence keep moving forward.
Their belief is one we share: every survivor, and their children deserves a fresh start and reclaimed dignity.
Domestic and family violence affects around 1 in 4 Australian women. Behind that number are real people rebuilding real lives, and the work of getting there is quiet, ongoing, and deeply practical. Every glove sold is a small contribution to someone’s fresh start.
If you or someone you know needs support, you can call 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732, or Lifeline on 13 11 14, any time.
The Same Fight
Whether you are wrapping your hands for your first class, or you are rebuilding after the hardest chapter of your life, it is the same fight underneath: the decision to reclaim your strength and refuse to be counted out.
That is the community we are building at HERfight and every time you pull on a pair of gloves, you are part of it.
